Disable all mouse support in modern vi/vim versions

Vim is a great editor and I have been using it for many years. The problem is that mouse support has creepted into vim over the years and this can be very irritating because in general you just use the mouse to highlight and copy/paste text in a terminal window. With vim mouse support on by default the behavior is very different from any thing that I expect from a terminal based application.

Here is how to disable both mouse support and mouse scroll support:

"add these lines to your .vimrc file:
"
"disable mouse support:
set mouse=
set ttymouse=
"disable mouse wheel scroll support:
set t_ti= t_te=
"disable system clipboard (you can still copy/paste by highlighting text with the mouse):
set clipboard=

The "set mouse=" is easily found if you google disabling mouse support but it took me a long time to find "set t_ti= t_te=" to disable scroll wheel support.
