Raising happy kids while staying a happy parent

Hello, I am Sara, the mom of Gini and Karl. Like most parents I want to raise happy and successful kids. Okay, as I love computers and am interested in many technical things I hope that I can give at least some of my enthusiasm to them so that they get curious to explore the wonders of nature (and computers and technique are in reality part of nature!) first with Antoin and me and then on their own. I love my kids. But I am also a penguin with my own wishes, fears and experiences. While raising my kids I learn a lot. I hear what other people say, I see what they do. Unfortunately I sometimes see that so called authorities try to impose their value system on parents and try to make them feel bad if they don't educate their kids the way that person thinks they should. So one reason to write this columns is that I want to tell you to keep your head high and to encourage you to think by yourself when you make decisions and to follow your feelings and your heart instead of some so called expert advice. No one child is the same so there can't be any recipes, just suggestions.
